Florida Boy Summers in Vermont in the Rollicking Coming-of-Age Novella

Upon a Peak in Darien By David Pearson

Enclosed is information about a new novella by David Pearson of Coral Gables, Florida. The book is available on both Amazon and Kindle.

The novella is a rollicking and comical coming-of-age story of an 18-year-old boy’s summer job playing piano and singing in a Vermont resort.

The protagonist navigates through a minefield of hysterical situations involving a German baroness, two gay antique dealers and a set of twin sisters, only to wind up finding his way with a good-looking Radcliffe coed.

From John F. Kennedy to Arnold Palmer: The Story of a Young PR Man’s Journey Through the Stars.

David Pearson has written a memoir about his career in public relations, starting with his being in the White House the night of November 22, 1963. From there the book, aptly titled “JFK and BOBBY, ARNIE and JACK…and David!”, follows him through the Peace Corps and early Civil Rights days before shifting to his own PR firm, which specialized in high end golf resorts and communities.

It was in promoting these communities, most featuring golf, that he was able to meet and work with such celebrities as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Joe DiMaggio.

Vignettes including these and other famous sports stars (i.e. Ted Williams, Pete Dye, Robert Trent Jones) show the reader something of their personal sides; as well as how a public relations man works with celebrities to promote his clients’ resorts.

The book should interest anyone interested in public relations, golf course design, or resort real estate development.
